St. Andrew, Jamaica (McN) – Police sized 78, 000 assortment of bleaching creams up-town Kingston on Tuesday April 11.
Detectives of the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Branch (C-TOC) confirm that a large assortment of bleaching creams of various brands were seized during an operation on Constant Spring Road, Kingston 8 on Tuesday.
Information in to Mckoy’s News are that a man has been arrested and charged with Breaches of the Pharmacy Act, Food and Drug Act and Customs Act, in connection with the 78, 000 containers of bleaching creams found.
Reports are that detectives of the C-TOC carried out a raid at the Constant Spring Road premise between 12 pm and 7:30 pm on Tuesday, April 11. The officers uncovered the bleaching creams in mass and confiscated them.
According to police reports, among the 78, 000 assortment of bleaching creams seized, there were bleaching creams that are not registered with the Ministry of Health for public use, others are classified as List 2 and List 4 drugs that cannot be sold in Jamaica without a prescription.
