Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Three persons were shot, one fatal, by gunmen who ambushed a group of men along Maxfield Avenue in Kingston, on Monday afternoon, May 6.

Investigators at the Denham Town Police Station say they are unable to release the name of the dead man at this early stage of the investigation, but they can confirm that the two other men who were shot, are presently still at hospital in serious but stable condition.

The Denham Town Police reported that shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Monday, the group of men were repairing a motorcycle which had broken down along Maxfield Avenue, when they were ambushed by armed men.

The gunmen opened fire hitting all three, before escaping in the area on foot.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the wounded men were transported to hospital, where one was pronounced dead, and the other two treated and admitted.

The police say that specific area has been prone to a number of mass shootings over the recent weeks.
