Dear McKoy: My sister imitates everything I do- My big sister copies everything I do and when I talk to her about it she acts like she does not know what I mean. If I buy an outfit, she buys one similar, if I do my hair a certain way, she does it too. Recently, my boyfriend and I have been trying to have a child and all of a sudden she wants one too. I don’t know if I should be afraid or concerned because she was not always like this. It wasn’t until high school that she started to do things I do. I was always better with boys and got more opportunities so I don’t know if she’s jealous or what. McKoy, our parents are turning a blind eye to this and I don;t know what to do. She comes to my house often and says she is always welcomed because “she’s family” but I don’t like it. How can I get her to back off?

You have reason to be concerned. People who want to be you, have the capacity to hurt you so you will have to set clear, stern boundaries and let her know you’re uncomfortable with her coming to your house so often. You are an adult and you must stand firm in these things. Do not allow her to bully you.
