Dear McKoy,
I am currently dating a woman who has HIV.  I have not disclosed this to my family because I know how judgmental they can be.

Recently I overheard my mother telling my father that she heard my girlfriend has HIV and she is going to ask me. I have been avoiding my mom for weeks, she recently messaged me asking if my girlfriend has HIV and I have ignored her message.

I ran into her yesterday at the Supermarket and she asked me. I told her that was none of her business. Do you think she needs to know? Do you believe she even has a right to know what is going on? Let me know what you think!

Dear M.R,

I believe it’s completely up to you if you want your family to know about your woman or not. I don’t think it’s their place to be interfering in your life. It’s not as if your girlfriend hid it from you right? She was very open about the situation and you’re not even bothered by it. Why should they be? Keep loving her. Everyone deserves to be loved.
