Dear McKoy: My Girlfriend is Avoiding Marriage (McKoy’s News) – Thanks for taking the time to read my concern! I am a 32-year-old male who has been in a relationship with a female for the past 8 years. The problem is that I have been wanting to marry her for the past 6 years but every time I have asked, she’s said no. She says she loves me but she doesn’t seem to want to have a future with me.
I have been wanting to leave for a while now. I want kids, she doesn’t want kids. I want to buy a house together but she doesn’t want to. I am at a loss as to what I need to do.
I am in need of some serious advice.
You are definitely in a precarious position. We believe it would really be best to speak with your girlfriend about your relationship and where it’s headed. It seems you both have different priorities. We wouldn’t want to wrongfully judge her so you’ll need to speak with her to see where her head is in this situation.
If you guys happen to want different things then I believe that you guys need to go separate ways. If you guys can come to a compromise that would also be good.
Sit down first and really discuss things. Let us know how everything goes.
