Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ), is advising that the Darliston Tax Office located in Westmoreland, re-opened to the public earlier today, Monday October 4, 2021, after man extensive refurbishing process. The office was closed on September 19, 2020, to facilitate the renovation process and members of staff were temporarily re-assigned to the Savanna-la-mar Tax Office.
The newly refurbished Darliston office features:
– Renovated building
– More spacious Banking Hall
– New Conference Room
– Improved Signage
– Wheelchair Access
– Stand-by Generator
The re-opening of the Darliston Tax Office is welcoming to the community as persons no longer have to travel to neighbouring Tax Offices to conduct certain business transactions. Mr. Oral Chin was the first taxpayer to visit the location today to conduct a Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN) transaction. He stated that “the office is very comfortable” and went on to indicate, that the staff members there always gave customers their full attention.
Persons are being reminded however, that several services are available online via TAJ’s website at http://www.jamaicatax.gov.jm, instead of having to visit a Tax Office to do so. These include the payment of Property Tax, Motor Vehicle Certificate of Fitness Fee, and Driver’s Licence Renewal fee payment, Traffic Ticket Fines, Business-Related Taxes and Fees. Additionally, persons may query their Property Tax liability; initiate an application for a Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN) or apply for Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC).
