Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The police in East Kingston say they have now made a breakthrough into the identity of a man who was shot and killed by gunmen in the area on Friday, May 25, 2018.
The deceased has been identified as Damion Downey, otherwise called, “Shane Dog” 27-year-old unemployed of a St Thomas address.
The East Kingston police have reported that shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Friday, residents living in Pleasant Heights community made several reports of a barrage of gunshots being fired in the area and armed men seen roaming the streets.
The police responded to the call and upon reaching a section of Pleasant Heights, they stumbled upon the body of the man which had multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigators say they are still trying to determine if the man who was later identified as Downey, was actually one of the men involved in the armed gang war or if he was a bystander.
