Damion Crawford wants to be Vice President of the People’s National Party (PNP).

Jamaica News: Political firebrand Damion Crawford is in the running to become one of Vice Presidents of the People’s National Party (PNP).

Mr. Crawford was among the six persons who were nominated on Thursday at the party’s Hope Road headquarters in St Andrew.

The one time East Rural St Andrew MP said he decided to contest the post because he wanted to help determine policy inside the party.

At a recent political rally, he said the party needed to bring more young people to the party and he was the man to do that.

“I’m the biggest influencer of young people in politics” he said.

Crawford has enlisted the support some several PNP stalwarts including KD Knight, Michael Peart and Patricia Sutherland.

Also in the race for the four VP places are Mikael Phillips, Phillip Paulwell and the incumbent Vice Presidents: Doctors Wykeham McNeil, Angela Brown Burke and Fenton Ferguson.

The winners will be decided at the party’s Annual General Conference in September.
