Jamaica Sports News: Two semi-final spots were taken yesterday following quarter-final games. Daaksyde and Arawak Camp will meet in the semi-finals following penalty wins over Police and Arrow Nation respectively.
In the first game which was halted by rain, Daakayde and Police played out an exciting 0-0 game which went straight into penalties where Daaksyde held on for a nerve-racking 5-4 spot-kick win to book their semi-final spot which will be played over two legs on the 2nd and 9th of December.
In the other game of the day, Arawak Camp and their juniors Arrow Nation squared off where both teams went for it in a rivalry manner and exchanged tackles and tricks throughout the game but no goals, Arawak Camp had the better chances to score but couldn’t find the back of the net, the first real chance came in the second half when Jiggs was set up by a teammate one on one with the keeper only to see his shot pushed wide by Dervan James in goal for Arrow Nation and moments after Carson Findley right footed shot from far out was cannoned off the crossbar with James looking helpless.
It ended 0-0 and went straight to penalties where Arawak Camp won 6-5 in sudden death penalties to set up a clash with Daaksyde which will be a repeat of last year’s semi-final.
