Customer Service Representative Held with Illegal Firearm in Montego Bay

Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: One man was arrested and charged in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition, during a joint military operation carried out at his home in Cornwall Courts, Montego Bay, St James on Wednesday, March 6.

The police say they are unable to release the name of the accused who is said to be a customer service representative, because he may be placed before an identification parade.

Reports by the police are that between the hours of 5:00 a.m., and 7:00 a.m., a joint military operation was carried out at a premises along Bermuda Link in Cornwall Courts.

During the operation, a house occupied by the accused, and his silver Mitsubishi motor car was searched, and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol fitted with a magazine containing ten live 9mm rounds was found hidden in the dashboard of the motorcar.
