Due to the flare-up of violence and murders which have been taking place in and around Swallowfield, in St Andrew, over the past weeks, the Security forces have now extended the curfew which was imposed in the area on Monday.
The curfew which took effect at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, February 4th and was due to end at 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 6th, has now been extended up until 6:00 p.m., on Friday, February 8th.
Following a call by many residents for an extension of the Curfew, the joint security forces say they saw a need for additional security intervention within the community.
Areas which falls under the boundaries are Old Bundy Lane from Old Hope road to Swallowfield.
Along with an imaginary line through Swallowfield road to North Avenue and along Arthur Wint Drive.
Then along Old Hope road from the vicinity of Harris Pool through to Bundy Lane.
The police High command is now asking members of the public to stay indoors during the curfew hours, also for their full corporation, and to obey the ground commander in charge of the curfew.
