Crime Rate Increases: Four People Shot, Two Fatally in Kingston

Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)Crime Rate Increases: Four persons were shot; 2 fatally on Sunlight Street, off Maxfield Avenue in St Andrew this morning.

They have been identified as 34-year-old Fabian Atkinson and 31-year-old Julio Daniels.

Two children; ages 12 and 14 years, were injured during the incident.

One was hospitalized with bullet wound and the other was grazed on the hand.

According to reports, residents heard explosions about 4:30 AM and summoned the police.

On their arrival, the police went to a house and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Head of the Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay said the killings have been linked to a gang feud.

Superintendent Lindsay says these shootings are occurring too frequently and the police command is very concerned.
