St. Thomas (McKoy’s News)- Update: Court Case Of Doreen Dyer- Bertram Anderson: St Thomas born attorney, Bertram Anderson, who is a past student of the Morant Bay High School, represented Doreen Dyer, who was charged with cruelty to a child on October 6, and was eventually offered bail.
Miss Dyer was seen in a viral video, beating her daughter with a machete, and since that time she has shown regrets for her actions.
The attorney, Mr Bertram Anderson, who represented the 44-year-old mother of five in the St Thomas Parish Court, was asked what sentence would be imposed on the defendant if she made a guilty plea to the crime in question. He also made an application when the matter was brought up in court.
The Parish judge has ordered a social enquiry report on Miss Dyer.
Miss Dyer is ordered to return to court on the 15th of January, at which time the judge will make known her position on the application.
