Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Correctional Officer Murdered A man was shot to death while he was awaiting a tow-truck at the entrance of Carawina Avenue, Pembroke Hall, Kingston, on Sunday, June 23.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Traves Anderson, a Correctional Officer of Pembroke Hall, Kingston 20.

According to reports, about 2:45 pm on Sunday night,  Anderson was in the process of removing some items from a silver Toyota Hilux motor truck which was broken into on Saturday night. While awaiting the tow truck,  he was ambushed by a group of armed men traveling in a silver motor car. The men opened gunfire at him, hitting him multiple times .to his head and upper body.

Anderson managed to return fire, but he was overpowered by the gunmen who managed to relieve him of a Browning 9mm pistol, property of the Department of Correctional Services. The gunmen escaped in the said silver motor car.

The police were summoned to the scene and upon their arrival, Anderson was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
