Jamaica Crime News, St James: Detectives attached to the Montego Bay, Freeport station are now carrying out investigation surrounding the death of a popular contractor, whose body was discovered in a decomposing state at his home in Lilliput on Monday morning, August 13.
The deceased has been identified as, 73-year-old Neville Parkinson, otherwise called “Rasta” of Grange Pen also in Lilliput.
Reports by the police are that residents living in Grange Pen in Lilliput, got curious after they did not see Parkinson as usual.
About 8:30 p.m. on Monday, a neighbor went to Parkinson’s home to investigate and discovered a foul scent coming from a room of the house.
An alarm was raised and a group of residents forced their way inside the house and stumbled upon the decomposing body of the contractor.
The police were alerted and upon arrival, the scene was processed and the body later transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The police say they are unable to state the cause of death at this time, based on the vast state of decomposition. They further stated that they will now wait on a post-mortem examination result in order to proceed.
