Construction Worker Killed In Providence Heights

Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Construction Worker Killed: A man who has been identified to be a construction worker was shot and killed by unknown assailants at a section of Providence Heights, in Flankers, St James, Saturday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Michael Norman Smith, 26-year-old Construction worker of Reading District, also in St James.

Reports by the police are that  shortly after 12:30 pm on Saturday, November 11, residents of  a section of Providence Heights known as Capture land,
reported hearing loud explosions which sounded like gunshots, and alerted the police.

The Coral Gardens police rushed to the scene and discovered Smith lying on the roadway in a pool of blood, with gunshot wounds to his upper body.

He was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Since the start of the year, a total of 272 persons have been murdered in the parish of St James.
