Jamaica News, April 16, 2018 – Construction Worker is 25th Murder Victim                                  

St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s New) – A 49-year-old Construction worker who hails from Lilliput in St James, is the 25th person to be murdered in the parish since the start of the year.

The victim has been identified as Delbert Jones of Little River in Lilliput. He was shot and killed by unknown assailants in the area on Saturday morning.

Reports by the Freeport police are that about 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, Jones was walking in the Lilliput community. On reaching a section of the area known as Bamboo lawn, he was attacked by unknown assailants who shot him several times to his upper body.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, they discovered the victim lying in a pool of blood along the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

He was transported to the Cornwall Regional hospital where he was pronounced dead.
