Regional football governing body, CONCACAF, has canceled the 2021 CONCACAF Under-17 World Cup Qualifiers and the 2021 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on the football calendar and continued concerns over international travel.

This follows the decision of FIFA, the sport’s world governing body, to cancel the Under-17 and Under-20 World Cups in Peru and Indonesia, respectively.

The U-17 World Cup was originally slated to take place in Peru and the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia, with FIFA also announcing that both countries will now be hosting the respective tournaments in 2023.

The United States U-20s have reached the quarterfinals in each of the last three U-20 World Cups, while the U-17s made the quarterfinals in 2017.
