Common-Law Couple Held with Submachine Gun at Their Home in St James

Latest Jamaica News, St James: A St James common-law couple was arrested following the seizure of a submachine Intro-tech submachine gun, at their home in Lilliput community, on Monday, August 5.

The identities of both accused are being withheld pending further investigations by the police.

Reports by the police are that about 6:30 a.m. on Monday, a team of officers carried out an operation at a house occupied by the common-law couple, at a section of the community known as Bobman Hill.

During a search of the house, the lawmen discovered an Intro-tech submachine gun, fitted with a magazine containing three live rounds in their stove oven.

The 38-year-old male who operates a shop in the community and his 36-year-old girlfriend, were both taken into custody in connection with the seizure.
