Common-Law Couple Arrested for Lottery Scam in St James

Jamaica Crime News, St James: A man and his common-law wife were arrested by the St. James police on Friday morning,  January 25, following the seizure of several leads sheets, and other devices used in the lottery scam.

The police say they are unable to release the names of both accused because they have not yet been charged.

Reports are that, between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. a team of officers attached to the Freeport Police Department, carried out an operation at a premises occupied by the common-law couple, in Rose Heights, Montego Bay.

During a search of the house, the police discovered several leads sheets with the names of several residents living overseas.

A further search of the premises led to the seizure of cell phones, laptops, flash drives and other devices which are also believed to be used in the lottery scam.
