Montego Bay, Jamaica (Montego Bay, Jamaica) – Man Charged after Collecting Fedex Package with US$4,200: A man was slapped with various charges after he went to the Sangster International Airport to collect a package sent through FedEx which contained over US$4,000.
The defendant, Troy Duffus appeared in the St. James Parish Court on Tuesday, July 11 where his attorney Keetja Murrel made an application for a bail variation.
The application was made before Parish Judge Sandria Wong-Small where the lawyer asked that her client report to another police station. As part of his bail condition, Duffus was instructed to report to a particular police station certain days per week.
His bail was extended until September 19.
Duffus, who hails from West End in Negril, faces charges of possession of identity information, bringing criminal property into Jamaica, concealed and engaging in a transaction that involves criminal property, causing money to be transported from a place outside of Jamaica to a place inside of Jamaica, uttering forged document, forgery, possession of forged document and conspiracy to defraud.
Allegations are that on May 4, 2017, about 4:00 pm, Duffus went to the Customs Department at the Sangster International Airport to collect a package sent through FedEx by a female in Florida.
During a search of the package by customs officials, it was found to contain US$4,200 stuffed inside a book. Duffus was arrested and charged.
