Clarendon Police Launch Investigation into Murder of Popular Auto Body Man

Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: The May Pen police in the parish of Clarendon, have now launched a full investigation surrounding the shooting death of a popular auto body repairman, and the shooting and wounding of another man, which occurred in the parish, on Monday, April 1.

The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Paul Dawkins, otherwise called “Stamma” of Sewell Crescent, in May Pen. The name of the wounded victim is being withheld by the police.

Reports by the police are that about 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Dawkins and the other victim were standing inside his yard, when they were approached by a group of armed men.

The gunmen opened fire hitting both men, before making their escape in the area. The police were summoned and upon their arrival, both men were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were rushed to hospital, where Dawkins was pronounced dead and the other man admitted in serious condition.
