A Clarendon man who attempted to murder his own girlfriend, after chopping her in the face and to her neck, on Tuesday, March 16, has been arrested and charged by the police.
He has been identified as 35-year-old Randy McKenzie, a Fisherman of Portland Cottage, and he has been charged with Wounding with Intent.
Reports by the police are that about 10;30am, McKenzie and his girlfriend had a dispute at their home in Portland Cottage district, when he reportedly used a large stone to hit her in her head.
He then also used a machete to chop her to the face and neck, but the woman managed to escape before she was killed.
The police was informed of the incident and following an investigation, McKenzie was arrested and charged.
