Clarendon Man Caught with Homemade Gun in Westmoreland

Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: A 28-year-old painter who hails from the parish of Clarendon was arrested and charged, in connection with the seizure of an illegal homemade handgun in the parish of Westmoreland on Saturday afternoon.
The accused has been identified as, Demar Walters, who hails from Chapleton District in Clarendon but was living at Whitehall in Negril, Westmoreland.
Reports by the police are that about 3:30 p.m., a team of officers acted upon information received and went to a house in Whitehall, Negril which is occupied by Walters.
During a search of the house, the homemade handgun and two live 9mm rounds were found wrapped in two black plastic bags in the house. Walters was taken into custody and subsequently charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
