Latest Jamaica News, Clarendon: Footballer Found Dead – The Spaldings police in the parish of Manchester say they now have reason to believe that the 30-year-old footballer, whose body was discovered on a playing field in the parish on Wednesday afternoon, July 24, died from a heart attack.
The victim Jamarley Powell of Spalding in Clarendon, is believed to have suffered a mild heart attack after he went to do his daily exercise.
He was last seen that morning, after he left his family home and went jogging in the directions, where his body was discovered.
Reports are that shortly after midday, residents stumbled upon Powell’s body on the playing field of a primary school in Sanguinettie, and summoned them.
The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for a post-mortem.
Powell played professional football in the Super League and the National premier league. He also represented Jamaica internationally in Beach Soccer.
Powell who attended Spaldings High represented the institution in the Docasta Cup School Boy football and Kingston College in the Manning Cup.
As an adult, he represented Water House and Maverly Hughenden in the National premier league.
