Jamaica News, St Mary: The Canadian International Chaplaincy Association/CICA International University and Seminary in Jamaica has graduated its first candidate in the Doctor of Ministry, DMin programme which took place at the Annotto Bay Baptist Church in St Mary, on Sunday, July 21, 2018.
Dr. Milton Anthony Gager was presented with his earned degree which he was able to complete 100% online. Dr. Gager; who is a lecturer at the College of Agriculture, Science and Education/CASE, praised CICA for its comprehensive programme which was very demanding of his time. The Evangelist; who is also a Moderator of the Mt Angus Circuit of Baptist Churches in St Mary, has highly recommended the DMin programme to pastors who want to get further training in theology and lay persons of the Church and professionals who want to focus on Ministry and not necessarily pastoral care.
Caribbean Representative at CICA University and Seminary and President/CEO of Health, Education and Counselling Institute/HECOIN His Excellency Professor Colin O Jarrett; who was the Guest Speaker at the event, praised the work of CICA in the Caribbean and moreso in Jamaica and called upon Jamaicans to make use of its training opportunities in theology leading to world-class online training – BA, MA and DMin and PhD. He urged Dr Gager to be like Ananias, being an ordinary servant doing extra-ordinary things, drawn from Acts 9:1-22. Professor Jarrett congratulated Dr Gager for scoring high grades in his final tests along with research papers. Chancellor of CICA University and Seminary His Excellency The Hon Rev Dr Phillip S Phinn sent a congratulatory message in the programme.
