Chronixx Returns To ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ With A Cool Quarantine Performance

The critically acclaimed Chronixx returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a stellar quarantine performance. Looking debonair in his Khaki toned ¾ pantsuit, the Reggae luminary and his minimalistic band took Jimmy and his audience to an old abandoned plant in his homeland Jamaica to lay down his new track, Cool As The Breeze/Friday. His highly anticipated performance aired on Monday night, July 27, slaking all expectations.

This is Chronixx’s third appearance on Jimmy’s late-night talk show. He made his U.S. television debut on The Tonight Show’s stage back in the summer of 2014, performing his hit single Here Comes Trouble from his chart-topping Dread And Terrible album. Then was invited back in 2017, where he lit up the stage singing his soulful Majesty from his Chronology LP music collection.

The new single Cool As The Breeze/Friday released last week (Wednesday, July 22) with a stunning music video highlighting the rich cultural landscape of Tivoli Gardens in Kingston during the summertime, but according to Chronixx, “everyday is a summer” and rightly so in Jamaica.

His performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was somewhat of an extension of the artistic production captured in the Meji Alabi directed music video.

In the one-take production, Chronixx first appears to be alone in a remote, ramshackle looking old factory, but with his mic is in-hand, he fires off the sweet melodies of his new track.

Confidently stepping it through the water puddles on the pavement, he later joins his keyboardist, Evan Mason, alongside an old but clean looking Toyota Corolla.

Chronixx is expected to debut his sophomore album Dela Splash sometime this year. Cool As The Breeze/Friday should appear in the collection along with his previously released lead single, Dela Move, and another entitled Same Prayer.
