Jamaica News, Kingston: Even as it continues to face heat over the scandal at Petrojam, the government has turned to the private sector for assistance in a separate but equally troubling issue facing the organization.

Chris Zacca, a former President of the powerful Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica has been tasked with the responsibility of chairing a body to help “restructure the entity”.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness who notified Parliament of the decision this week said the government was keen to position Petrojam as a viable entity in a changing landscape, among them the shift from Residual Fuel Oil to Liquified Natural Gas.

Parliament was told that the effect of sanctions imposed by the United States on those who trade with Venezuela was among the factors that gave rise to the need for this review committee.
