Eighteen-year-old Giovanni Dixon of Glendevon, St James, was stabbed to death by another vendor, following a dispute along a section of Jimmy Cliff Boulevard, in Montego Bay, on Sunday, May 16.
The accused killer was taken into custody immediately following the incident.
Reports by the police are that about 1:15 pm, Dixon was selling jerk chicken along a section of the tourist hip-strip, when he and another vendor got involved in a dispute, allegedly over some water which he said to have contaminated.
A knife was brought into play, and used by the other vendor to stab Dixon in the regions of his upper body.
The police were summoned and Dixon was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The police also carried out an investigation at the scene, and took the accused into custody.
