Jamaica News, March 1, 2018 – Chef and Laborer Shot by Mask Men
St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – A Chef and a laborer of Canterbury in Montego Bay, St James are now nursing gunshot wounds at the Cornwall Regional Hospital after they were both shot and injured by two mask gunmen in the community on Wednesday, February 28.
Reports by the Barnett Street police are that shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the laborer was walking along a track in Canterbury when he saw two men wearing masks and armed with high-powered weapons approached him. He turned and ran but the gunmen opened fire hitting him to his upper body.
Seconds later, the chef was also walking home and upon reaching the vicinity of a shop, he overheard the explosions. He too turned and ran, and was also shot by the mask gunmen.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, both victims were rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where they were treated and admitted in serious condition.
Meanwhile, the police have now set up more patrols in the Canterbury area in a bid to apprehend the gunmen, who continue to roam the communities despite the State of Emergency in effect.
