St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Alleged Chain Thieves on TrialTwo St. James men accused of snatching a man’s chain from his neck went on trial Friday in the St. James Parish Court.

The defendants, Jevaughn Jones and Iwayne Barrett are facing charges of robbery with aggravation and receiving stolen property.

After the witness gave evidence, presiding judge Sandria Wong-Small set the matter for continuation on August 22 and extended the men’s bails.

The Crown is alleging that on April 24, 2017, the complainant was walking along St. James Street when he was accosted by both men. Jones allegedly snatched the complainant’s chain from around his neck following which the men fled the scene.

Jones was later apprehended and information given to the police led them to Cashwiz where Barrett was seen.

Both men were arrested and charged.
