Cavalier Football Club Created History On Friday At The Gothia Cup Youth Football Tournament In Sweden

Jamaica Sports News: Cavalier Football club on Friday became the first team from Jamaica and the Caribbean, to reach a final at the Gothia Cup youth football tournament in Sweden.

The Rudolph Speid coached team beat Spanish side Deportivi Alaves 2-0 in their consolation semifinal, at the Valhalla IP stadium.

Dwayne Atkinson in the 17th minute and Nique Daley in the 45th scored for Cavalier, who were relegated to the consolation playoff, after finishing third in their group, thereby missing the main quarterfinals.

Cavalier will now meet either Tiki Taka academy of Nigeria or Kalmar of Sweden, in the consolation final on Saturday morning Jamaica time starting at 9.

The Gothia Cup is the largest international youth football tournament in the world, with teams from over 80 nations taking part each year.
