St James Taxi man killed, He has been identified as Carlon Wilkins, 27-year-old, of Retirement district in St James.
Reports by the Freeport police are that about 7:30 pm, on Wednesday, Wilkins was operating taxi from downtown Montego Bay to his community of Retirement.
On reaching a section of the community, a gunman posing as a passenger, ask for a stop, and the driver complied.
The passenger stepped out of the vehicle, and while in the process of paying his fare, he brandished a handgun and fired several shots hitting Wilkins to his upper body.
The gunmen fled the scene on foot, and passing motorist assisted the wounded taxi operator to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Wilkins is the second taxi operator to be murdered in the parish of St James, by gunmen posing as passengers over the past week.
David Hylton, a 51-year-old, taxi operator, of Rhyne Park Village, Rosehall in St James, was shot and killed IN his community on Friday morning, October 19th.
