Jamaica News: The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has expressed condolences to the government and people of Japan.

Over 200 persons have died while millions have been forced to evacuate as more than 500 millimeters of rainfall lashed Central and Western Japan between Friday and Saturday alone.

CARICOM in a release said, “the Caribbean Community expresses its solidarity with the people of Japan at this moment of national grief and is confident that the innate strength of the people of Japan will fortify them as the task of recovery and rebuilding begins.”

Prime Minister Andrew Holness is the Chairman of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM.
