Jamaica Sports News, Montego Bay: Come this Sunday Wadadah Football team will take their first big step in football for the longest while. The former Premier League champions will play their first match in the four-team JFF-Magnum Charley’s JB Rum play-off match at Jarrett Park on Sunday, June 3, starting at 6.pm.
Wadadah earned the rights to be in the playoff, after shutting off high riding Catherine Hall FC 6-5 on penalties in the Western Confed finals last month at Jarrett Park. The Daniels Ricketts coach team will be at home to Kingston and St Andrew Football Association winners Barbican, who got past Browns Town FC in Kingston.
Playing in front of their home crowd, Wadadah is expected to pull out one of their largest fan base for the longest while. The Montego Bay football fans will be banking on them to carry the Premier League flags with the so-call withdrawal on Montego Bay United from the competition. Barbican will want to add another team from Kingston into the Premier League also, after the demotion of Boys Town. Barbican had competed in the competition more than a decade ago. The other match will see fancy team Mount Pleasant visiting Dunbeholden also on Sunday.
