Jamaica Crime News: The Constant Spring police have confirmed that additional criminal charges have now been laid against Kemar Marsden, the St Andrew businessman who was charged earlier this week with the murder of 49-year-old Gareth Forbes, an attorney at law who hails from Stilwell Road in Kingston 8, St Andrew.
The 30-year-old, accused who hails from Grosvenor Terrace in Kingston 8, is now facing additional charges of conspiracy to commit murder, stemming from a recent incident where he allegedly hired a hit-man to kill one of his close family members.
The matter was reported to the police, and they intervened before the alleged hit was actually carried out.
Marsden was arrested and charged on Saturday, March 2, with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition in relation to the death of the lawyer.
Reports by the Constant Spring police are that on January 17, Forbes was discovered murdered at his home in St Andrew. The attorney was found lying in a pool of blood in a room of the house, with his hands and feet bound. He also had gunshot wounds to his head.
Following the discovery, the police launched an investigation which led to the accused man been arrested. He was then questioned in the presence of his lawyer and slapped with charges.
He is booked to appear in court at a later date.
