A St James business operator was arrested by detectives attached to the Lottery Scamming Task Force on Wednesday, February 27, after a search carried out at his business place in Flankers, led to the seizure of names, addresses and personal information of residents living overseas.
The police say they are unable to release the name of the accused man at this early time.
Reports by the police are that on Wednesday morning a team of officers attached to the Lottery Scamming Task Force carried out an operation at a shop located along Mahagony drive in Flankers.
During the operation, electronic devices which had names and personal identifications of residents living overseas were found.
He was immediately taken into custody and will now be questioned in the presence of his lawyer and then slapped with criminal charges.
