Bus Operator Succumbs to Gunshot Wounds at Hospital

Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: The St James police have now confirmed that a popular Montego Bay bus operator, who was shot and injured by gunmen along a section of Barnett Lane in Montego Bay, St James, on Tuesday morning, December 4, succumbed to his injuries at hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Glendora Jackson, otherwise called “Blacks or Blacka “48-year-old, also of a Barnett Lane address.

Reports by the Barrett Street police are that shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jackson parked his Toyota Hiace minibus along a section of Upper Barnett Lane and went inside a bar.

Minutes later, Jackson alighted from the establishment and was in the process of walking toward his bus, when he was ambushed by a lone gunman, who opened fire hitting him multiple times to his upper body.

The gunman then made his escape on foot in the area, while residents in the community summoned the police.

Upon the arrival of the lawmen, Jackson was assisted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition, and later succumb to his injuries.
