Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: A popular Montego Bay bus operator is now battling for life in the Cornwall Regional Hospital, after he was shot and injured by a lone gunman along a section of Upper Barnett Lane, on Tuesday morning, December 4.
Investigators say they are unable to release the name of the victim, but we were informed that he is known as ” Blacks”, and operates a passenger minibus from Montego Bay to Lucea.
Reports are that shortly after 6:00 a.m., on Tuesday, the bus operator parked his vehicle along a section of Upper Barnett Lane and went inside a bar.
Minutes later after he alighted from the bar, he was in the process of walking toward his bus when he was ambushed by a lone gunman, who opened fire hitting him multiple times to his upper body.
The gunman then made his escape on foot in the area, while residents in the community assisted the wounded man to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition.
The Barnett Street police were summoned on the scene and they carried out a series of investigations.
