Trelawny, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Brit Jam Promoter Shot by Gunmen: Last night (Thursday, July 27, 2017), a popular Brit Jam Promoter was shot and injured in a drive by shooting in Trelawny. The promoter, who resides at Bogue Village in Montego Bay, St James, has since been admitted at the hospital following this incident.
The police reported that shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, the 34-yr-old promoter, along with two friends, were travelling from Kingston towards Montego Bay in his White Mark X motor car, when on reaching a section of the Salt Marsh main road which borders Trelawny and St James, a Burgundy Honda motor car, with two men on board pulled up alongside them. The men then brandished high-powered weapons and opened fire on the promoter and his two friends.
Brit Jam Promoter Shot: He received gunshot wounds to the upper part of his body and immediately lost control of the vehicle, which crashed in an embankment. The gunmen were in the process of alighting from their vehicle when one of the male victims who was traveling in the vehicle with the promoter and who is a licensed firearm holder returned the fire. The gunmen sped away from the scene.
The Falmouth police were summoned and the wounded promoter rushed to the Falmouth hospital where he was admitted.
No motive has yet been established for the shooting as the Falmouth police are continuing their investigations.
