Jamaica Crime News, St James: The body of 32-year-old Javan Scarlett, who was reported missing from his community in Palmyra, Barrett Town on Monday, November 19, was discovered in a shallow grave in the area on Tuesday afternoon.

Reports by the Barrett Town police are that,  Scarlett went missing from the area on Saturday about 9:00 p.m., but he was reported missing by his father, at the Barrett Town police station, on Monday morning, November 19.

According to the police,  on Tuesday community members joined forces with them to carry out searches for Scarlett, when they stumbled upon what appeared to be a shallow grave in bushes, at a section of the community known as Mount Zion.

A search was carried out of the shallow grave and the police later exhumed the partially decomposed body of a man, which was later identified to be Scarlett, by his father.

The police say the body had what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. The body was later removed to the morgue.
