St George’s, Grenada ( McKoy’s News) — Body of German Man on Yacht: Decomposing body found on a yacht drifting seven miles south of Grenada is that of a German Man, Bernard Ludwig Ottogottel.

Grenda Police reports are that a group of Grenadian divers saw the yacht on April 13 sailing without professional guidance and alerted the local Coast Guard found the body of Bernard Ludwig Ottogottel, 62-year-old, identified by his passport in the cabin.

The 40-foot yacht with badly damaged sails, name “VAMP”, is now at the Grenadian Coast Guard base.

The Germany Consulate has been informed.

“We are also working with Interpol (International Police) to assist in tracking the yacht. What we know so far is that it’s a German-registered yacht and it set sail from the Canary Islands,” said Directive Superintendent Earl Dunbar.

The Grenada police Superintend say they will be carrying out further investigations before a final determination is made as to the possible cause of death.
