A serial robber who has been terrorizing residents living in Retreat Heights, and surrounding communities in the parish of Trelawny, was held by the police inside one of his victim’s house, last Friday, August 28.
The serial robber has been identified as 27-year-old, Roderick Barnett, otherwise called ” Blacks’ of a Brown’s Town address, in St Ann, and he has since been charged with House Breaking and Larceny.
Reports by the Trelawny police are that Barnett is believed to be behind a series of house break-in which have been taking place within the surrounding over a period of time.
On Friday morning, the homeowner locked the door of his house and left for his daily business routines.
About an hour later he was alerted through his house security system that someone had broken into his home, so he summoned the police.
The police responded immediately, and upon reaching the house they noticed that the robber had gained entry into the building through a window.
A further search of the house resulted in ‘Blacks’ being discovered hiding on the inside, with an amount of loot which he had intended to steal.
He was apprehended and later charged. Residents in the community are now praising the police and told Mckoy’s News that they feel much more secure now that the serial robber has been caught.
