Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: A 41-year-old laborer was shot and killed by gunmen while walking in his community in Westmoreland on Monday night, November 5.
The police has given the identity of the deceased man as Jermaine Bedward, otherwise called “Black Jack” who also hailed from Bahram district.
Three men have since been taken into custody in connection with this latest murder.
Reports by the Savanna-la-mar police are that about 9:00 pm., Bedward was walking along a section of Bahram main road when he was ambushed by armed men.
The gunmen opened fire hitting Bedward to his upper body and left him for dead.
Residents in the area who overheard the gunshots summoned the police and upon their arrival, Bedward was found lying in a pool of blood, in a cluster of bushes with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
The scene was processed and Bedward was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The police say following the shooting, they carried out a series of investigations in the area, which led to the arrest of three men who they believe can assist them in their investigations surrounding Bedward’s shooting.
