Kingston, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Barbadian Man Arrested: A Barbadian man was arrested and charged in connection with the seizure of just over 60 pounds of ganja at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston on Friday, January 19.
Charged with the offences of Possession of Ganja, Dealing in Ganja and Taking Steps Preparatory to Export Ganja is 47-year-old Ricardo Bryan, a butler of Brittons Hill, St. Michael in Barbados.
He is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, January 24, 2018.
Reports are that about 4:10 p.m., Bryan checked in to board a flight destined for Barbados. During security screening, irregularities were discovered in a suitcase he had checked in.
Narcotics Detectives intervened and an investigation revealed that a second suitcase had also been checked in. Both suitcases were checked and found to contain false compartments with compressed ganja weighing approximately 60 pounds.
