Jamaica Sports News: Bangladesh has levelled the T20 international series, after beating the West Indies by 12 runs, in Saturday night’s first T-20 match at the Central Broward Stadium in Lauderhill, South Florida.
After being asked to bat, Bangladesh, led by good knocks from Tamim Iqbal, who top scored with an attacking 74, inclusive of 6 fours and 4 sixes and Shakib Al Hasan 60, nine fours and one six, raced to 171 for 5 from their 20 overs.
Ashley Nurse and Keemo Paul were the best of the West Indies bowlers, taking two wickets each.
Andre Fletcher and Rovman Powell each scored 43, as the West Indies finished their 20 overs at 159 for 9. The other batsmen to reach double figures were Andre Russell 17, Ashley Nurse 16, Carlos Braithwaite 11 and Marlon Samuels 10.
Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers, with 3 for 50, while spinner Nazmul Islam grabbed 3 for 28.
Final scores: Bangladesh 171 for 5; West Indies 159 for 9.
