Jamaica Crime News, St James: Two St. James men were granted bail, after appearing before the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday, June 12, charged with robbery with aggravation.
Marlon Smith of Dumfries and 28-year-old Andre Rose of Glendevon, both in the parish, appeared before presiding judge Sandria Wong-Small.
The men were arrested following an incident on May 26 this year where they attacked and robbed a man of his mobile phone.
It is alleged that the complainant was walking along Howard Cooke Boulevard in the vicinity of the gas station when Rose approached him and asked him for a call.
Both men then attacked the complainant with a knife and robbed him of a bag containing his phone, J$100 and a headset before fleeing the scene.
During Wednesday’s proceedings, Wong-Small offered Rose bail in the sum of $250,000 in his own surety, while Smith was offered bail in the same sum with up to three sureties. Reporting conditions were also attached to their bails and a curfew order between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. was also imposed on them.
The men are to return to court on September 5.
