Montego Bay, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Bail Absconders Remanded in Custody: Parish Judge Sandria Wong-Small has on Wednesday, July 12 remanded two St. James men to police custody when they appeared before her for absconding bail.
The court heard that the two men, Andre Rose and Shane Brooks, were before the St. James Circuit Court in 2014 when they failed to honour their subsequent court appearance. The charge was not disclosed.
Warrants of arrest were executed and they were arrested earlier this year. The date of their arrest was not disclosed but they first came before the St. James Parish Court on January 25, 2017.
Brooks is represented by attorney-at-law Albert Morgan while attorney Khadine Colman represents Rose.
On Wednesday, Colman told the judge that she is yet to read the case file and take instructions from her client. She also indicated to the court that at one point she was representing Rose in another jurisdiction where he was kept in custody.
Meanwhile, the presiding Judge told the clerk-of-court to have dialogue with the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in regards to the matter.
The two men were subsequently remanded to police custody and will appear in court again on July 25.
