Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: 52-year-old Radcliffe Barrett, otherwise called “Harry”, was shot and killed outside the Montego Bay, Transport Center in downtown Montego Bay on Wednesday morning, November 21.
Reports by the Freeport police are that about 1:45 a.m., Barrett was at the entrance of the bus park and was in the process of loading a bus which plies the downtown Montego Bay to Kingston route, when he was approached by two men.
The men brandished handguns and opened fire hitting Barrett multiple times to his upper body, before making their escape in the area on foot.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed. Barrett was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting left a number of commuters traumatized, especially passengers who were already on the bus and others who were standing on the outside of the vehicle.
The shooting also resulted in a massive traffic pile-up, as investigators were forced to divert traffic from the Barnett Street, one-way lane, to other streets in downtown Montego Bay.
