The Kingston police have confirmed that the newborn baby which was stolen from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, on Wednesday, January 9, has been recovered.
A female has since been taken into custody in connection with the stolen child.
The police have reported that following the disappearance of the child in January they have been carrying out an intensive investigation.
On Tuesday, February 5 the lawmen got a tip-off from the authorities at the Register General Department, that a suspicious female was at the department trying to register a child.
The lawmen immediately went to the facility and questioned the female. When her answers did not add up, she was taken into custody and subsequently the baby was taken to the forensics lab for DNA testing.
On Wednesday afternoon the DNA testing results came back positive, that the baby was owned by the mother whose child was stolen after she went to investigate the bathroom at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital on January 9.
The accused woman is presently still being held and will be placed before an identification parade.
